Posted by our friends at today.openpandora.org, this piece of box art was devised by gp32x.de forum member “knotenpunkt”. It might lack the evocative retro charm of traylorpark’s designs, but it’s a well put together concept which looks so much like a real one, we can almost picture it on the doorstep right now. 1. It’s a nice design but not evocative enough for my tastes.

  2. This is a waste of time, I just don’t get it.

  3. Actually, wasting time is the whole point of it. Kills the time.
I prefer making photo prints in my darkroom, though.

  4. And reading, listening to music, and so on. (anyway,, whatever)

  5. @TT: At least it’s not an “Apple concept design,” comprised of a slab of aluminum and a verbal description of the removable battery or graphics card.

  6. I can go into BestBuy and see hundreds of boxes that look almost exactly like this, so I’m sure this design would bring you high praise if you were a designer for one of the giant corporations who makes all those boxes.

However, I liked the rainbow box much better. It stood out.

If Pandora ever hit store shelves this would be like retail camouflage. You eye would just slide right past it.

  7. Looks good to me!

  8. Well I think it looks cool, only the way “open pandora” is placed vertically is a bit strange!

  9. stop replying to TT he is a moron that hates the pandora

  10. I would love to have my pandora delivered in one of these, I would easily pay another 10 Euros for it.

  11. @lootic.
    – I’m not a moron
    – I don’t hate pandora as I ordred it and re-ordered it, before cancelling. I love the project. But, unlike you, I’m not a fanboy who’s gonna applause everytime someone make some crap related to pandora. IMO, spending time designing a box that’s anever gonna be made AND that’s completely useless is a waste of time. You are not gonna receive the pandora is such a box. And if you intend to have it printed for you to put the pandora once you’ve received it, I think you may well be the moron.
I just think it’s lame. Not need to insult me.

  12. My point is that at least the box has a shot at getting made. My point is also that there are too many Apple concept designs on the blogs these days, which have zero shot at getting made. Boy do I hate those.

  13. Reminds me of the later ZX Spectrum boxes.
The only problem I see with it is that the casual onlooker would have no idea what it was, or how small it is.
Still, none of that matters while it’s only sold online I suppose!

  14. looks nice, could use some texture filtering on the render (looks like it uses nearest-neighbor on text/wifi logo and is blocky…)

Preorders obviously won’t get this but I hope they put some box for when Pandora is available for normal sales

  15. @ HTL2001 – I think it looks like that, because this person took my render and dropped there own graphics on top.

  16. ugg… I meant *their
    sorry for the typo.

  17. “I just don’t get it.”

    No shit.

  18. It looks like something you would find on a store shelf. Although it would be nice, i don’t think we will be seeing a pandora on a shelf any time soon.

  19. Looks almost exactly like a DS Lite box. Except black.

  20. TT, no one’s making you read these things. it may be a waste of time, but who cares?

  21. Oh cmon. It looks extremely amateur to me, especially the sides. People should praise the other one, after all, it has the same feel as the pandora itself: iconic, ‘lovable’, community oriented. The pandora is hardly ‘professional’ so I don’t see how it is deserving of professional styled (not quality) box art.
Also get over this post, people. There’s not always a whole lot to post about.

  22. I like it, but I think it would look better if the Pandora in the picture was open, not closed. From the outside appearance it seems that this box contains .. a box of black soap!! 🙂

  23. “Keep It Short and Simple”

in my preference I like it
