New Zeq2lite video

July 6, 2009

MDave has posted a crackin’ new Zeq2lite gameplay video. The fighting is a little one sided (thanks to him being the only human in the room at the time of filming) but he promises some bona fide two player smashy smashy soon. The Dragonball Z flavoured deathmatcher is in development for PC, Linux, Mac, and Pandora.

  1. Very well done. This will be a great addition.

I Love how he stayed true to the DBZ fighting and made things very fast paced. I’m very curious to see how its controlled.

However just as a little bit of input I would say it might look a little better if you implement some realtime bone morphing (if its not already there, and assuming your using skeleton based animation) and making the animations actually make contact. I was kinda taking out of the battle by hits not syncing up and contact not actually being made. Just a suggestion. But other then that this looks bad ass๐Ÿ˜›

  2. WOW! Man, I look forward to playing that.

  3. It will be great granted the pandora can actually run it without turning off all the things that make it look nice
though i suppose its only rendering a few models and minimal backdrop

  4. This game looks like its awesome level is over 9000๐Ÿ˜€

    (too cheesy?)

  5. Yep.

  6. This reminds me the good old days of the Bid For Power packs.

  7. The movements are too ‘jumpy’ and the delay between the big hits are just very weird..

  8. kloplop321, i get the impression the moves are drawing similarities from the way fights work in the show, and if thats the case, its adding accuracy to the game. besides, unusual fighting dynamics can be fun i.e. viewtiful joe, etc with its unusual special moves.

  9. I agree with Kloplop321. It would be nice if it were just a bit more smooth. I understand that the show had some “jumpy” parts but not to this extreme.

Overall I think that I will definitely download this one. It’s too awesome to pass up.

The only thing that could make this better is destructible scenery. Then you could make your own DBZ cartoon show by taking a capture card too it. Though it probably already has this feature๐Ÿ˜€

  10. Wow, that was certainly an interesting… game Marty.
    ๐Ÿ˜‰

  11. Guys, don’t forget that this is still a WIP, he just wanted to show how the game engine will work, but there are still many things to tweak… which means it will be even better!๐Ÿ˜€

  12. I like what I’m seeing with these demos so far! It’s looking like a potential “killer app” for the Pandora.
Once it’s finished, I only hope I can snag it before lawyers get involved.

  13. The background reminds me of Roadrunner and Wile E. Coyote cartoons.

  14. you can always transform the game in a sort of “Roadrunner and Wile E. Coyote” if lawyer starts to look at your game…
