  1. Awesome!

  2. Great vid, but I haven’t seen it mentioned, do the the nubs act as buttons too? I can’t tell on the vid.

  3. @Gm I was wondering that too… Awesome video!!!

  4. No the nubs don’t act as buttons.

  5. Looks like mp dpad/buttons, it’s getting closer:D

  6. I’m just really interested how this actually feels. From looks alone it seems like it wouldn’t be that comfortable, but I’ve been told time and time again that it IS to the point that I have become a mindless zombie following the herd, obeying my masters commands. I just hope that my master is an honest man and isn’t letting ulterior motives shape his words….

  7. ^ If it’s any comfort, we’ve had numerous people assuring us that they’re good. Not all of them core dev team members. But it’ll mighty nice when we can find out for ourselves.🙂

Pickle’s comments in the thread for this video might be of interest to y’all:

  8. Oh boy… great video! The Pandora will certainly be a handheld for FPS’s, no doubt about it😉.

  9. Exellent news. Thanks Pickle!

  10. Nice to see pickle finally getting some prototype love

  11. Are the firmware problems solved?

  12. Looks very good! I was never worried it wouldn´t

  13. Thanks Pickle🙂

I’m glad to know you can discard the screwdriver😀

  14. This is by far the most beautiful Pandora vid I’ve seen!
    Pickle fo President!😀

  15. Wow, I was not convinced by Craig’s Q3 video that the Pandora controls were great for playing Q3, but seeing dual analogue nubs in action has really convinced me🙂 . Although I still suspect a mouse will give a bit more precision ;-P

  16. Analogue hubs are more than adequate if you’re not a hard core player. Even the PSP’s one nub + four buttons setup for most FPS’ works ok.

  17. nubs, that is

  18. much more interesting is if the 360 controller is also being supported…
the analog sticks of the 360 one have got certainly a better sensitivity and they fit perfectly in your hand.
Imho there´s no better way for playing FPS, on the other hand mouse and keyboard bores me.
i mean where´s the challenge? it´s just the boring variety of the wiimote.

  19. I can see why they’re not happy with the hinge. It was a bit floppy at the beginning.

I don’t know why they try to hide it. Why not do a quick video where they say “Here’s our new case. It’s mostly right but look at this floppy hinge. [pause for laughs] We’re working on tightening that up for the next prototype.”

THAT’S the kind of communication I’d enjoy from the dev team. Good news AND bad news. Not just good news and awkward silences.

The nubs, on the other hand, look cool. They look like they’re as good as you could possibly expect from nubs that size.

  20. Nubs look great, hinge does look a bit loose so I’m glad it’s being reworked. All in all great job guys and thanks for the vid pickle. Glad they’ve showed you some love with a more complete Pandora🙂

  21. “the analog sticks of the 360 one have got certainly a better sensitivity”

Oh, I suppose you have used a Pandora?

  22. Just for those reading there is no support in the hinge for the case I received. The real pandora will have some support.
Its just in a very early case so I can hold it.

  23. I can’t wait for the Pandora. I’ve been waiting to see the analogs in action. Looks awesome. And i love that the number keys are so easily reachable!

  24. AA++

    Very Well Said Andy L

  25. The Pandora is a journey. We’re fully paid up participants and most of us are grown-up to enjoy the ups and the downs. I’ve long been of the mind set that it will happen when it happens. There will and has been many problems. Let us know about them and appreciate just how hard you guys are working to solve them.

    Just agreeing with AndyL.

    Delivery=Now+2Months where Now=Tomorrow-1

    spell checked for gruso!

  26. What is up with the hinge? Is it just missing parts? Is that why its floopy?

  27. Yes the hinge is not complete, he said it on the forums somewhere

  28. The hinge is just plastic shoved in plastic right now. The production model will have the metallic hinge mechanism in place (amirite?) Not too worried.

    BTW, excellent vid!

  29. That’s what I figured. So then what is wrong with the case then? It looks fine to me. Why hasn’t it gone into mass production yet?

  30. It seems odd that the clicks and clacks of the case and controls is so muhc louder than the in-game audio!

  31. Gruso – thanks for the link to the board, but it appears to be broken:

Sorry, the link that brought you to this page seems to be out of date or broken

  32. Cheeky buggers moved the thread! New link:

  33. Hehehe. Quake II with analogue nubs really made me smile – I’m seriously lookingforward to this puppy playing games that have been optimised for the Pandora😀

  34. Looks awesome!!
