Quake II Benchmark Scores

January 28, 2009

Benchmark scores of Quake2 timedemo demo1 320×240, software rendering:

689 frames, 21.7 seconds, 31.7 fps 500MHz
689 frames, 18.4 seconds, 37.5 fps 600MHz
689 frames, 14.3 seconds, 48.2 fps 800MHz

  1. Well considering its software, not hardware based then we can expect a big leap in fps and increase in resolution, hopefully a solid 50-60fps on hardware when fully optimised…

  2. Considering that the port is unoptimized without any NEON tweaks, it’s impressing ๐Ÿ™‚ With SGX it will go through the roof ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Jay: I would be more than depressed if this gets more than 4ms/f

  4. that’s 250fps witch is far more than the refresh rate of the screen (i guess, ’cause I have yet to see any screen able to display that fast.)

  5. Here is some comparison material:

The game is very playable and benchmarks at 12.5 fps on demo1 at 320×240, 200mhz

So the ( raw cpu ) speed seem to scale linear compared to the gp2x.

  6. @Benjiro
You link to Quake for gp2x, but this is Quake _II_ ๐Ÿ˜‰

  7. BTW
    WIZ gets 11,4fps @533MHz

  8. *Woeps*, silly me ๐Ÿ™‚

Got confused with the 2x before it ๐Ÿ˜‰

  9. […] del team, รจ possibile trovare diverse demo del prodotto. Sono anche presenti i risultati dei benchmark eseguiti con Quake […]
